Salomon makes some great shoes and the Sense Ride GTX is just another in a long line. However, it is a rare occurrence and between the fun I am having and the comfort of the shoe overall I can say I am pretty happy. The only downside is that the Contragrip material doesn’t work as well under dry conditions as it does on wet and in fact can even be a bit slippery. It only adds about an ounce, but the protection is decent and the foot still breathes well so if its something you might be in need of, then definitely a plus. I do also love the waterproofing for this time of year from not only the rain and show, but also the cold.

It is a very simple, yet incredibly functional. All Salomon shoes also feature their Quicklace lacing system and lace pouch.
In fact, it feels almost identical to its mesh counterpart and only gets a minor weight increase. The upper on the Sense Ride GTX is obviously designed to be weather resistant making use of Gore-Tex Invisible Fit technology which integrates directly into their technical mesh. Today we look at the Salomon Sense Ride and as we love our inclement weather, we went for the Gore-Tex version. It is very easy to find yourself in those moments and what better way to get after it than by grabbing a pair of their always performance focused trail shoes. When you watch their trail running clinic videos or see a social post, it honestly just gives you all the feels. Salomon is one of those insanely aspirational brands that you just have to love to follow.
